Jason, Michael, Freddy, Leatherface, Hellraiser . Sure, there are a few more, but the look of the aforementioned horror characters are one of the reasons why they “stay with you” and continue to scare the shit out of you. We can now add one more on that list, Doll Boy. Yes, Doll Boy.
Doll Boy, by Billy Pon, is a twenty-something minute roller coaster ride that leaves you wanting more.
When a brutal daylight massacre leaves them bound and gagged in a remote, abandoned warehouse, eight young, West Texan's soon realize their minutes are numbered as well. Dropped deep into dark corridors these captives quickly find themselves in a game of predator and prey, with a merciless killer brandishing a sledgehammer as his choice of judgment. The dilapidated structure once the address of an old Tex-Mex flea market now houses a hell especially ready to deliver these unwitting souls a horrific fate they never dreamed existed.
One of the things that make this movie fun is the artistic quality that it was shot in. In addition to Doll Boy whacking people with the sledgehammer, we see the disturbed word that he lives in. Doll Boy stalks his prey as children’s toys lay on the floor, cartoons play on the projector and decomposed corpses lay on the floor.
Bloody Bill has created the best new slasher in recent memory. Here’s hoping that we see more of this character in a much bigger way!
