We caught up with actor, Texas Battle, to talk about The Task.
Horror News Network: How did you land a role in The Task?
Texas Battle: I landed the role in "The Task" by getting a call from the casting
director Mark Teschner to come in and audition for another movie..
After I read for that film, which I wasn't quite right for, I get a call
from "Mark Teschner" in casting again that the producers wanted me for
another movie called "The Task." I read the script, and liked what I read,
then had my Agent/Manager call back to say that I responded to the script.
The next day, they ended up offering me the role of "Dixon".
Horror News Network: What was it about The Task that you found intriguing?
Texas Battle: What I found intriging about the script "The Task" is that it's a
movie inside a movie. With its standard way of shooting combined with its
Reality style shooting, it's one of those movies that you can't wait to
see.
Horror News Network: Can you tell us a bit about your character, Dixon?
Texas Battle: My character "Dixon" is from New York and is basically a guy that
doesn't take "NO" for an answer!! He believes in "Do whatever it takes to
WIN... The only person he trusts is himself!! A strong leader of the pack!!
Horror News Network: Television is filled with reality type programming. Did you have to watch any certain programs to prepare for this role?
Texas Battle: I didnt have to prepare for this film by watching any reality shows.
I actually responded to the character of "Dixon" because I could bring a
bit of Texas Battle into the role.
Horror News Network: How long were you on set filming?
Texas Battle: I was on set filming for about three weeks in Sofia, Bulgaria. My
first time in Eastern Germany. It was very different.
Horror News Network: Can you tell us a bit about the filming location? Was it as creepy as it looks?
Texas Battle: The solitary confinement scene that we shot at the abandoned jail, I
would say was a bit creepy. It was definitely an experience that I will
never forget!! We actually shot that scene in an actual real life solitary
compartment, which they locked me in for real! It was cool but a real
scary moment as well.

Horror News Network: Thank you for your time, Texas. Best of luck with The Task! Comment on this interview on our forum. |
