Seth and Jonah are murderous twins who share an evil
kinship. Damned from the moment of their births, the
brothers possess a gruesome talent for telekinesis – a
power they use in the most horrific ways imaginable. As
their fellow students meet gory fates, the local law
enforcement begin to suspect the twins’ connection to the
depraved murders. What started as a jealous rage escalates
into a supernatural showdown – pitting brother against
brother, evil against evil.
We caught up with actors, Gary and Edmund Entin, to talk
about Seconds Apart.
Horror News Network: How did you guys get involved in
Seconds Apart?
Gary Entin: Edmund and I got called in for an audition. When we read the
script we got excited. It was so dark and complex... right up our
alley. We also loved that even though it centered around twins, the
roles of Seth and Jonah couldn’t be more opposite.
Edmund Entin: We went in a few times for the director and producer. I’ve
never seen so many twins in my life! It was a bit of freak show to be
honest.
Horror News Network: Can you provide a description of your
characters, Seth and Jonah?
Gary Entin: Seth is deeply disturbed. He’s a control freak. What I love
about the way Seth was written is how real he is -- even though he does
“evil things”, he’s three dimensional. Everything he does comes from a
very emotional place.
Edmund Entin: Jonah is an introvert. He’s compassionate. He is constantly
struggling with his own twisted mythology and his desire to be good. He
also happens to be better looking than Seth, which is why it was clear
from the beginning.... Edmund will play Jonah!
Horror News Network: What did each of you find most
intriguing about the role?
Gary Entin: I liked the challenge of portraying a “bad guy” but coming
from a real place. I wanted play him complex and not typical.
Edmund Entin: I liked how sympathetic Jonah is. It was funny because we
knew which one we wanted to portray with out even discussing it.
Horror News Network: Did you guys do any special type of
research for this role?
Gary Entin: Yes. I’m a method actor so I went out and tortured people
with my physic abilities. Great for the film, bad for the next door
neighbor.
Edmund Entin: (Laughs) Way to blow our cover, Gary. No, but to be honest
we didn’t research "creepy twins" or anything. Instead we built
profiles for them. Writing down backgrounds, internal thoughts, that
kind of stuff.
Horror News Network: How long were you filming Seconds
Apart?
Gary Entin: We shot for over a month in New Orleans.
Edmund Entin: Best city in the world!
Horror News Network: What is it like working side by side
with your brother?
Gary Entin: He’s a real diva.
Edmund Entin: This is true.
Gary Entin: No. It’s awesome. Whenever we get to work together we have
the most fun.
Edmund Entin: No one is more in sync than twins. You also have more
freedom than working with someone you don’t know. For example, in one
scene gary decided to spit on my face -- it made the scene that much
better. I don’t know how comfortable you’d be doing that with someone
you just met.
Horror News Network: How was it working with the rest of
the cast, Orlando Jones, Samantha Droke, etc?
Gary Entin: They were incredible. Orlando is fantastic. Just doing a
scene with him you learn a ton! Orlando is a hard worker and excellent
actor. We both feel very lucky to have the opportunity to have done
this with him. Samantha is also awesome. I think she’s one of the best
young actress out there right now.
Edmund Entin: Did Samantha Droke fall in love with me? Yes. Can I blame
her? No I cannot.
Horror News Network: Where can our readers find out more
about you guys?
Gary Entin: They can always visit our IMDB page. Or they call our high
school drama teacher if they want the real dirt.
Edmund Entin: I have a twitter. Gary does not. I post Woody Allen quotes
on my twitter if that’s any incentive...
Horror News Network: In closing, what would you guys like
to say about Seconds Apart?
Gary Entin: I’d like to give a shout out to our Director Antonio Negret.
This guy is a genius. I can say enough about his talent. This movie is
great because of him.
Edmund Entin: Also our producer Courtney Solomon. He’s so passionate and
that rubs off on everybody. But overall it was an incredible
experience. We’re both very proud of this film and can’t say enough
good things about it!
