It's safe to say that AHS is earning its Batshit Crazy Merit Badge.

Spoilers ahead:

The Good

Let me just get this out of the way. Constance has been doing a very good, appropriately overdramatic job of a mother losing it. She is approprately unstable, and you can already see her plans form, or at least get a hint of them. She continues to do well here, going from a drunken wreck, to a desperate plea for stability, to slapping the shit out of her ghost confused rubber rapist adulterer kid.

The rest of this episode belongs to Ben. Here we finally get to see the various ways Ben has become even more of an asshole, a horrid husband, and angry twat, and a shit shrink all blend into one fun to watch, let's say, purée. He finally stands up to his libido, finally becoming a good husband. Well, other than the fact that he has ignored his wife when she said she was raped, had her committed, and told her while he thought she wass unconscious that he will have her rot in there because she has been with another man, still unable to put two and two together and realize that she may have been raped, if not by gimp Tate then by, I don't know, the guy who broke into their house.

The Ben v Security guard argument was well done. Ben was desperate, and the guard seems pretty calm and use to this shit, at least knew he had the high ground. And finally Ben is realizing that something weird is going on.

The Bad

One of the side effects for women who have died in the house is that they seem to always be in heat. Hayden is fucking Constance's loser boyfriend, as well as Constance's ex husband (Ex? Are they still together even after he's dead? They never filled out the paperwork, but she did kill him. I'm guessing that makes him an ex) after regularly murdering each one. Even the Black Dahlia is playing a fauxbian with Moira just for an outside chance of hetero sex. The only dead woman on the show not getting any seems to be Nora Montgomery, even if she's been there the longest.

I still haven't the slightest idea what Hayden is doing, or where her character is going. She's bouncing around between being madly in love with Ben, to ruining his live, to fucking the airhead neighbor. I hope she finds a direction, since it's obvious she's going to remain a part of the story. As of right now she seems to be the stable, negotiating ghost in the house, but that is like saying she's the rational one in the Westboro Baptist Church.

The Weird

Sprit seed creates the antichrist. Please read that out loud. Tate, who had some pity points when trying to care for Violet and confronting his past, loses everything and goes back to being the asshole after we learn that he is the rapey father of the antichrist. Also one of two twins. Being the fraternal twin of the antichrist will be worse than being Paula Hitler.

American Horror Story is going back to being a guilty pleasure trainwreck to watch, but it's no longer a bad thing. AHS is becoming a version of True Blood that wants to sound serious while having less sex, but it's still a very fun ride.
