The Walking Dead Season 2 - Episode 5 - Chupacabra

Meat
This episode begins with a flash back of when the group finds each other. They are in a traffic jam along with many other refugees trying to get to a refugee center. Shane and Lori walk off to get a better look at what’s wrong as helicopters and fighter jets fly over head only to find that they are dropping napalm onto the streets of the city. Back at camp in Hershel’s farm Lori and Carol decide to cook dinner for Hershel and his family. The others continue the search for Sophia. Daryl decides to search alone again but this time on horseback. Which ends up not such a good idea as the horse gets spooked by a snake and throws him over a small gorge forcing an arrow through his side. This little mishap also has him hallucinating about his brother, who was just as much an ass-hole to his little brother as he was to everyone else. I worry about the relationship between Daryl and his brother messing with his mind and sending him back into his reclusive shell. I like Daryl I feel he could be a great asset to the group if he can get through his childhood trauma. Daryl comes to being attacked by a walker with another on the way, but successfully kills them. My worries are further validated when Daryl cuts the ears off of the slaughtered walkers and makes a necklace out of them. He climbs back up the gorge and gets back to the farm only to get grazed by a bullet from Andrea. A bullet Andrea was told to not to shoot by everyone else. She thought by his gimpy walk and dirt and blood covered body he was a walker and the sun was in her sight so she really couldn’t see what she was shooting at. But Andrea living by her own rules as usual shoots anyway. I know I have continued to show I do not like Andrea’s whining and bitching but now I hate her dumb ass! If this was my group member after shooting at Daryl she would either be killed or sent on her own way! Ever since her sister died last season she has been problems. And you can’t risk having a loose cannon like her around a big group! Shane and Rick, while searching for Sophia, have a long talk about calling off the search. Shane explains to Rick that Rick is wearing the group thin searching for a girl that’s probably dead. As I said before I’m ready for this search to end also and our survivors to move on. Rick then has a bumpy conversation about him controlling his group with Hershel. Hershel, it seems to me is one of those mean controlling “Head of the family”, “my way or the highway” kind of men. I don’t much like him either he has a lot to hide. We find out he has quite a bit to hide when Glen goes to meet up with Maggie in the hay loft of the barn. Hershel and his family have a large group of walkers locked in the barn. I think they might be their family?! I guess we’ll just have to wait until next week to find out!
Walkers
I loved the way Daryl kills the walkers attacking him during his search for Sophia. The first one’s head is bashed in repeatedly until it’s all mushy! And he second gets an arrow to the frontal cortex which is further pushed in by falling onto it. The shocker of this episode is all the walkers locked in ol’ Hershel’s barn!
My Flesh
We have definitely come to decision time on many issues! Andrea is pissing me off and really needs to go or get the shit kicked right out of her! The search does need to end. I’m sorry I know it’s a child but it’s not only physically wearing on the group it also affects the moral everyday they come up with nothing! I say take out all our newly found walkers in the barn and “arrest” or take hostage (however you want to put it) Hershel for being a sick and twisted freak! This will also fix the little problem of where the group can stay! So, what do you guys think? Kick Andrea to the curb or just kick her ass? Call off the search for Sophia? Take over the farm? Is Daryl going nuts? Is Shane?
I look forward to your comments and questions so send them in let’s “chew the fat!” Until next week my fellow Gore Whores!
